The U.S. State Department has set up a system where you can text “HAITI” to “90999″ and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts, charged to your cell phone bill.
CNN iReport: Share this link to your Facebook friends and/or Twitter followers and encourage them to help spread it for anybody trying to get in touch with a loved one in Haiti.

The FBI sent out a press release warning against internet scams related to relief efforts. Donations to the Red Cross are always a safe way to go when donating for natural disaster relief efforts.

Having lived through a number of hurricanes, the reality is that not only are these folks suffering now, but they will be suffering for many years to come.It will take years and an enormous amount of funds to rebuild the infrastructure, not to mention building dwellings, schools, and stores. One can only hope that the internatinal community continues to supprt the people in Haiti. Then, one can only hope that they will have leadership that supports the people of Haiti.
Interesting, (well, what I could read of it). I am afflicted with color blindness (protanopia to be precise). I mainly use Chrome browser (not sure if that is of any importance), and a great deal of your web page is hard for me to read. I know that it is not your problem really, but it would be nice if you would bear in mind color blind folk like me while carrying out your next webpage re-working.
Awesome post about Twitter. I think Twitter is going to be one of the best networks because of the fact that it is supported by so many industries. I also think when Twitter reveals some of it’s new functions, returning traffic will increase to show the real growth of the network. Keep up the great work!
