Happy Birthday, Laura & Jordan!

Friday, March 30th, 2012

Today was another big day at G|J. We celebrated the birthdays of both Laura and Jordan! Everyone enjoyed the delicious flavors of our favorite local Greek restaurant.

After lunch, the G|J team sang our fabulous rendition of the Happy Birthday song. Topping off the festivities, we were all treated to scrumptious strawberry shortcake with some of the largest strawberries we had ever seen!

Happy birthday Laura and Jordan! Thank you for everything you do here at G|J!

Social Media March Madness

Friday, March 23rd, 2012

March Madness is coming to a close, but there’s still time to get in some social fun! That’s right, the college games are not just for the small screen–they’re also for the even smaller screen of your phone, tablet or computer!

So now that we’ve got that straightened out, you’re probably wondering what’s the best way for your brand to share in the excitement of the games. Well, Likeable Media worked it all out, and here we are to give you the results–March Madness style!

The 8 Contenders

Pinterest vs. Instagram: Pinterest wins thanks to high interaction, influence and sharing.

Tumblr vs. Twitter: Twitter helps spread your message to a broad audience…fast!

Google+ vs. LinkedIn: Big-time SEO means victory for Google+.

Facebook vs. Foursquare: An extensive network and opportunity make Facebook the one to beat.

The Final Four

Twitter vs. Pinterest: Twitter makes it easy to get your voice heard without board and topic restrictions.

Google+ vs. Facebook: Years of growth and increasing user base help Facebook come out on top.

The New iPad: Is the Third Time the Charm?

Friday, March 16th, 2012

Happy iPad Day! In case you’ve been living under a rock, today is the day Apple is rolling out the all-new iPad, and, naturally, the whole world is pretty excited.

After the seemingly endless lines for last year’s iPad release, it seems many of the technology-wielding fans have headed to the internet (perhaps using their iPad 2) this time around to order the latest and greatest from Apple. In-store lines may be shorter, but rest assured because there’s no shortage of “iPad 3″ buyers out there. If anything, they just can’t get enough.

So what is it they can’t get enough of? What makes the iPad 3 worth waking up at the crack of dawn? Here are three reasons the new iPad makes the iPad 2 look so last year.

  1. The Retina Screen: Imagine looking at a screen so crisp and clear you can’t even see a pixel with your naked eye. Yeah, it’s probably one of those things you need to see to believe.
  2. Did Anyone Say 4G? Now your internet speed can go up to 4G from either Verizon or AT&T. YouTube here we come!
  3. Say Cheese: This is the camera you’ve been waiting for. It’s a 5-megapixel camera with features so high-tech even Hollywood directors would be jealous.

So what do you think? Are you getting the new iPad?

It’s Birthday Season at G|J!

Friday, March 9th, 2012

To date, we’ve already celebrated five birthdays in 2012 and today we commemorated the birthdays of two very special people in our office – Maria and Kevin!

Our guests of honor selected P.F. Chang’s for our main course today – and boy was it delicious! Red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and an assortment of fresh fruits rounded out our afternoon meal. Fun table topics for this festive affair included women’s high heel shoes and the difficulty they pose when walking quickly, taking public transportation to work and the most interesting settings to host business meetings in.

Happy Birthday Maria and Kevin!

Facebook Got A Makeover – Again!

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

If you haven’t seen it yet – you will soon! Branded Facebook pages for businesses received an appearance update yesterday. Closely resembling the new Timeline layout that we’ve been seeing on personal Facebook profiles, Timeline pages for businesses will continue to allow marketers everywhere to express their unique brand identities in a more visual way.

There are three target objectives that Facebook hopes the new Timeline for business pages will accomplish:

1. Express: Express your identity with features like the cover photo and timeline.
2. Reach: Reach your audience wherever they are, on the web or their mobile device.
3. Respond: Respond to people in a quick, more personal way.

Take a closer look at Facebook’s Timeline for business pages as we help you navigate the new features. Do you think this new interface will hinder or help Facebook to accomplish each of the objectives above?

1. Cover Photo: Capture the essence of your business and showcase your product or service.

2. Profile Picture: Use a logo that people associate with your business.

3. Page Title, Likes, and People Talking About This: Glance at your high-level stats such as the number of Likes, People Talking About This and Check-ins.

4. About: Tell the world who you are with basic information about your business (i.e. your mission, brief description and founding date).

5. Views and Apps: Your photos, events and custom apps are found here. Change the order so people see what matters to you first. Additional views and apps can be found by clicking the drop-down arrow.

6. Composer: The best way to reach your audience across Facebook and drive engagement is by posting regularly to your Page.

7. Pinned Post: Anchor the most important story to the top of your Page for up to seven days.

8. Friend Activity: People will see how their friends interact with your Page.

9. Date Selector: People can navigate to different sections of your Page timeline.

10. Admin Panel: View notifications, respond to messages, view Page Insights and edit Page content.

11. Highlighted Post: Highlight important stories using the star icon.
