When the Brookfield Homes team aspired to bring something fresh and different to their brand, they turned to Gunn|Jerkens to help bring their imaginative project to life.
We were given the opportunity to conceptualize, design, animate and execute the concept of a unique LIFEstyle Quiz to help increase Brookfield’s Facebook fan base, encourage interaction and make the home finding process fun! We’re excited to announce that our client Brookfield Homes is providing an alternative way for potential homebuyers to find their new home with the launch of the new campaign.
Introducing the Brookfield Homes LIFEstyle Quiz!

This custom-designed Facebook tab allows consumers to match their unique lifestyle to the Brookfield community that best suits their needs, offering a personalized and interactive experience.
Consumers are greeted by a series of questions to help them find their perfect home.

Whether their idea of a fun weekend is riding a bike through town. Soaking up sun at the beach. Or enjoying recreational activities in the neighborhood.
The quiz displays a community to complement any lifestyle and a fun animation to accompany each selected answer.

From lively characters to breezy palm trees and well-known cityscapes, every aspect of the animation and design reflects relevant San Diego landmarks as well as the exclusive lifestyle represented at each of the six Brookfield communities.

Earlier this year we had the opportunity to work with our client Shapell Homes on a unique concept to showcase their green features.
G|J collaborated with Shapell Homes to develop an innovative green/sustainable presentation within the Sage at Plum Canyon Ranch model complex. The eye-catching storefront design is filled with a multitude of energy-saving solutions that allow visitors to preview the products and eco-savings found in each new home.

Now, we’re excited to announce that the Sage at Plum Canyon Ranch community has been named Green Home Builder Magazine’s 2011 Community of the Year!

Congratulations to the Shapell team! Thank you for allowing G|J to think outside of the box – while delivering the money-saving and eco-friendly message.

We recently celebrated the season at the annual Gunn|Jerkens Holiday Extravaganza! Each year Linda surprises us with some sort of amazing adventure that is guaranteed to be both fun and sentimental – and this year was no exception!
For this holiday season, we all headed over to Wokcano Restaurant & Lounge in downtown Long Beach. After we all sat down, it was decided the time was right to give Linda her holiday gift. Wanting to do something new and creative, the G|J team spent several weeks before the party carefully planning, designing and producing a special project we knew Linda was sure to love. What was it you ask?

Collectively, we wrote, illustrated and produced a story book based on the classic fairytale Snow White & the Seven Dwarves. The G|J version is called Snow Gunn & the 13 Dwarves!
In it, we recount the history and growth of Gunn|Jerkens as well as the important roles we each play as team members here.

Linda was shocked and thrilled at the thoughtfulness that went into the gift. Touched by the gesture, she definitely cried tears of happiness, which made all the work well worth the effort!

After gift-giving, everyone enjoyed a scrumptious feast. It was a fantastic holiday party filled with great conversation, good food and even better memories!
Wishing everyone Happy Holidays from the G|J team!

Today we celebrated the very special birthday of one of our account executives – Meredith! In honor of her day, we chowed down on Greek food from G|J’s favorite local restaurant and the feast was rounded off with a scrumptious strawberry shortcake.
Topics of conversation this afternoon included Meredith’s birthday plans, gyro meat, Javier’s restaurant and turtles with personality among other things!

The entire G|J team wants to wish Meredith a very happy birthday! Thank you for everything you do. We appreciate you.

Gunn|Jerkens was recently tasked with creating a new campaign to promote Olson Homes’ new home community – Citrus Walk in Covina, CA.

The campaign, Now This Is Fresh, was quickly crafted and executed based on three key attributes possessed by the Citrus Walk community that make it fresh, new, innovative and cool. The first is that the community itself boasts new architecture in a location encompassed by the quaint and historical downtown Covina surroundings. Citrus Walk provides for an experience of fresh, innovative design, that offers a new take on in-town living.

The convenient location of Citrus Walk also makes it fresh! Here, you can park your car and visit walking-close restaurants, cafés, parks, Starbucks and the Farmer’s Market. And yet, you can still easily hop on the freeway or Metrolink, which makes commuting a convenient solution no matter which direction you’re traveling. Living closer to the things you need and love makes living at Citrus Walk a fresh approach to life.
Citrus Walk also offers homeowners a fresh opportunity to own a new home. With a price that’s right, interest rates that are low and tax benefits that can’t be beat, owning a new home at Citrus Walk gives residents the pride of knowing they’re building a fresh future.

The G|J team developed a strategic plan to ensure that the fresh campaign was shared in as many places possible to drive qualified leads from the target market to the new townhome community. This was a multi-platform campaign that integrated traditional, digital and social media tools to spread the word about the great value and lifestyle available at Citrus Walk.

Within just a few days of the campaign launch, Citrus Walk saw increased web and on-site traffic and, most importantly, an increase in home sales!
We’re grateful to work with such a wonderful client and look forward to creating many more campaigns for Olson Homes!

Gunn|Jerkens recently launched a special campaign for our client, Newhall Land and their master-planned community of Valencia, California. In an effort to engage the Valencia Facebook fans and showcase some of the community amenities, we asked users to participate in the Awesome Scavenger Hunt!

Running for a total of eight weeks, the hunt presents a new clue each week, which is posted to the Valencia Facebook page. And each clue has fans and residents visiting some of the places Valencia is most known for.
Fans were encouraged to hone their Facebook skills and get ready to snap some pics for their chance to win. Prizes range from Starbucks, iTunes, American Express and Westfield Mall gift cards to the grand prize of the winning fan’s choice: either a spa day or a special date night for two.
This campaign is a win-win for both the Facebook fans and the client. The fans, of course, get their chance to win some awesome prizes and the client receives targeted user-generated content promoting their community from the best marketers they have – their residents!

Goblins. Witches. Ghouls. It’s that one time of year when everyone is welcome in any shape or form!
It’s that time when when the pumpkins are carved, scary movies are everywhere and candy is king. Halloween is a day filled with fun, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn anything from it. Here are 5 marketing lessons you can learn from Halloween!

1. Let Them Know You’re Home: Just like when you’re passing out candy, you have to let people know that you’re open for business. This means updating your website, posting blogs and staying at the helm of your Facebook account. Afterall, no one is going to come knocking when all the lights are off!
2. Tell a Gripping Story: A great way to stir interest and entice visitors is always to set the stage and tell a great story. For those passing out candy, that means transforming your house into a haunted mansion, but for marketers, that means creating presentations and sharing case studies.
3. Pass Out the Goods: Everyone likes to get something for free, but don’t just pass out anything. You want to give something that will make you stand out, and great content will have them coming back for more, just like the best candies will bring the trick-or-treaters in droves.
4. Prepare for Success: When you’re offering something great, chances are people are going to want it, so make sure you can live up to your promises. If new customers come to find that the content they’re looking for isn’t available, you better have more things lined up because nothing is worse than running out of goodies for your visitors!
5. Show Your Thanks to Big-Time Fans: There are always those people who come back time after time. Show your appreciation by giving them a little something extra whether it’s a special perk, retweeting or a shout out. This way they’ll be more likely to come back for more and bring their friends along for the treat!
