5 Reasons We’re Thankful for Pinkberry

Friday, July 8th, 2011

If you live in Southern California, then you know we have been having some crazy weather around here lately. Some days it’s drizzly and others it’s so hot you don’t want to venture out anywhere there isn’t an air conditioning system blasting at full strength.

This bizarre weather pattern has been making its way well into the month of June, which was hardly what most California residents would call summer. But, just as we entered into July, summer finally showed up – and in full force! The weather has been hot!

Yesterday afternoon Team G|J’s craving for cool and our need for a pick-me-up was fully recognized when we all received a surprise delivery of Pinkberry frozen yogurt!

Here are five reasons we’re thankful for Pinkberry:

  1. It cools us down.
  2. It tastes fantastic.
  3. It gives a much-needed sugar boost at the end of the day.
  4. If you select healthy toppings, you can take in one whole serving of fruit for the day.
  5. Seeing all the different combinations of yogurt flavors and toppings makes for a great photo-op.

After we had enjoyed our tasty treats, our brains were cooled down enough for us to partake in a brainstorming session full of laughs and an abundance of creative ideas.

Pinkberry was exactly what we needed to get through this summer heat. More please!

More Fun Around the G/J Office!

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Last week we celebrated Easter a little early here at Gunn/Jerkens. Why would we want to do that?

Five eggs-cellent reasons to celebrate Easter early:

1. You love the taste of bunny ears when made of chocolate
2. You figure Good Friday sounds like a good day to start celebrating
3. You have a bag full of eggs and you don’t know what to do with them
4. You really love bunnies and want to post them all over your Facebook
5. You want to win the Gunn/Jerkens Easter Egg Extravaganza – badly!

We were a great display of frenzy last Friday at Gunn/Jerkens as we celebrated Easter early, battling it out in the G/J Easter Egg Extravaganza. Linda took time to decorate two Easter eggs for each person in the office and strategically hid them throughout the common areas of the agency. Although the whole team wasn’t able to participate that day, those of us who were had 30 minutes to scour the shelves, drawers, kitchen and lobby in search of the special treats. Linda kept track of who found what and where, marking off each retrieved egg from her checklist. That way we didn’t leave any uncovered eggs to be found at Christmas!

Some of us had better luck than others in our searching skills. A couple people were able to locate more eggs than were allotted to them while others had a hard time finding one or two. In the end we all had a great time and the experience brought back many childhood memories for us. After the hunt we were all ready to celebrate a weekend with family and friends. Thanks for the fun and games, Linda! We all had a blast!

Happy Friday the 13th!

Friday, August 13th, 2010

In honor of Friday the 13th, here are some superstitions from around the Gunn/Jerkens office:

  • During the morning production meeting, don’t say anything along the lines of “There’s not that much work to do” because that will inevitably lead to a day full of tons of work.
  • Don’t step on the tiled border in the hallway. (Just don’t.)

  • Be prepared for some sort of difficulty in your day if you travel with Amanda for work. Locked keys, delayed flights, dead car battery. Unfortunately for Amanda, most of the time she is on the receiving end of the trouble.
  • No matter how advanced a client’s set-up is, we always bring our own projector and screen to plug the laptop in for presentations.

I think all of us here have more habits or idiosyncrasies than superstitions when it comes to work.  Those might come out at another time so be prepared.

Have a lucky 13th!
