Gunn|Jerkens recently had the opportunity to work with the YuMe team to develop a tablet video advertising campaign that coincided with the launch of the Adweek iPad app, which debuted earlier this month.
The campaign consisted of a tablet ad, landing page, print ad and video to demonstrate YuMe’s interactive tablet advertising capabilities.
In today’s rapidly evolving marketing landscape, it’s exciting to be branching out into the world of tablet advertising. Take a look at the video created for the YuMe tablet campaign.
We’re thankful for the opportunity to work with the YuMe team and we look forward to continued developments in the world of tablet and video advertising.

Gunn/Jerkens just released the video it created for the new Shapell Homes campaign “You can always spot someone who lives at Alamo Creek.” It’s been three months in the making and well worth the wait! We want to send another thank you to all the stores and shopping centers that allowed us to shoot in their facilities: Blackhawk Plaza, Jellyfish Spa, d.bar, Flaunt Boutique, Cloud Nine Skin and Body Care and Draeger’s Market. And finally, we owe a special “Thank You!” shout out to our great client, Shapell Homes, the entire Shapell Homes team and the Alamo Creek sales team for their assistance with this project.
And now, without further ado, enjoy your front row seat to the video premiere!
The New Year is right around the corner, and, as usual, the holiday season is turning out all kinds of interesting facts and reviews on the last twelve months. It’s always fun to reminisce, but what I like most is seeing how much we’ve changed in just one year’s time.
Here are some interesting facts I found in this “Mobile Year in Review 2010″ video:
-In 2010 five billion apps were downloaded, a HUGE increase from just 300 million apps in 2009! Were you among the people who downloaded apps this year?
-In 2010 half of all pageviews were to social network sites. I’m actually surprised this number isn’t higher because it seems like everyone these days is married to Facebook!
-This year data traffic exploded by 3,000%!
All of these statistics really make you think — if we’ve come this far in just one year, where will we be in five or ten years? For me, I’m hoping I can change Facebook status with my thoughts. But all kidding aside, I can’t wait to see what 2011 has in store for us!
Type in the address of the home where you grew up and watch the video unfold. It’s probably best to let you experience it yourself instead of explaining what happens.
It was built as an experiment for the Google Chrome browser so you’ll need to download that for the best experience if you don’t have it. It sounds like it’s working on some other browsers though.

Inspired by Richard’s post about YouTube’s “Life in a Day” project, Chris (my husband) and I put together a little video. Here’s how we spent our July 24, 2010.
And while I’m at it, a shameless plug about my own blog. Nothing more than photos, videos and recipes documenting our days…check it out » www.styleandsyntax.com
Every Friday, we try to eat lunch as an office and discuss a topic that will help us in our work. We’ve done everything from brainstorming sessions to a run-through of a client’s website while also taking time to travel down some interesting tangents like Linda’s love of “Dexter” or the culinary merits of instant noodles.
I thought today might be a good day to watch some videos that have been posted online. I came across this video of Adora Svitak speaking at the TED Conference earlier this year. In the video, she talk about how we often use the word “childish” as a negative when the world might benefit from some of the traits children embrace like creativity and optimism. Did I mention that she is only 12?
I was impressed not only by her composure and charisma but also her thoughts on how children can enjoy creativity and the pursuit of perfection because they haven’t learned all about the world yet. Or how learning should be a two-way street between teacher and student but it often doesn’t work out that way due to a lack of trust. Such wisdom for someone so young!
After watching the video, I can’t think of a better spokesperson for the idea that adults can learn something from a child.
YouTube just announced a new video project called “Life in a Day.” In a nutshell, on July 24, they’re inviting the public to become film directors and create video snapshots of their lives on that day. The most compelling submissions will then be edited by Oscar-winning director, Kevin Macdonald, into a documentary, executive produced by Ridley Scott, that is scheduled to screen at Sundance next year.
This is a great idea and all but this sort of seems to be pretty much a rip-off of “One Day on Earth.” My old college roommate is actually producing that project and told me about it months ago. Check out their trailer:
Can you say knock-off?! Am I crazy to think this is way too similar? I know “One Day on Earth” has a lot of great videographers participating on that day. I’d be curious if, by the nature of YouTube, the “Life in a Day” project might have more banal submissions of day-to-day life.
Either way, I hope that you check out both projects and, if possible, support both with your videos on the respective days.
